Food & Drink Week in June/July – Food and Drink Tastes Great All Around!
Food is a drink intended for consumption. The body needs the energy it will get from food to operate. In addition to fulfilling our need for food, foods also play significant roles in society. Common examples of foods include fruit juices, milk, bread and other grains, vegetables and meat.
Food & Drink Week will celebrate International Food & Drinks month which falls on the first weekend of July each year. During this week, cities all over the world will be participating in various festivals to promote awareness of the importance of eating healthy. In London, residents will be encouraged to “eat well with friends” and enjoy the bounty of traditional festivals. Participants will include family members, work colleagues, students, grandparents, and anyone who want to enjoy great food and drinks. You can also sign up to organize an event, which will be a combination of entertainment, education, and fun.
Each year, organizers of Food & Drink Week organize exciting events which encourage participants to embrace the delicious culture of their region. The week usually includes an international theme, such as an authentic Spanish meal, Mexican food, Chinese food or a German beer garden. During the main festival, participants are free to bring whatever food & drink they want to share with everyone else. However, participants are not allowed to serve alcohol at any point during the event. The festival is open to everyone, including children.
