Online Gambling Statistics

According to the latest Online Gambling Statistics, almost half of the world’s population participates in online gambling. This is a huge increase from the last year when only 5% of the population participated in online gambling. This has been the case since the popularity of the internet has increased dramatically. In fact, the prevalence of online gambling has soared so much that the number of people who have an account has nearly doubled since 2012. While the number of people who participate in online gambling has doubled, the numbers of people who gamble outside the home have also risen.

In one study, over half of male college students said they had gambled in the past year. This number was even higher among those who had a gambling problem. More specifically, men are more likely to report engaging in Internet gambling than women, as they have more freedom to make decisions. The study also showed that Internet gambling has a higher risk of developing addictions in some individuals than in others. However, this data is still limited and requires further research to draw accurate conclusions.

The industry has grown tremendously since its inception and continues to grow. It is estimated that online gambling is worth $33 billion globally in 2012, and has grown by nearly $17 billion in just seven years. In the U.S., 57% of online gamblers are female and the average age is 21. Despite the high risk associated with online gambling, people are still drawn to it even during lockdowns. The key is to play responsibly and enjoy yourself while playing.
